The MOREEX Program is a comprehensive patient safety and quality improvement program for caregivers and administrators within hospital units. Built on the foundation of our flagship program-The MOREOB Program (Managing Obstetrical Risk Efficiently), MOREEX can help other hospital-based teams realize the positive outcomes that hundreds of obstetrical teams have achieved.

The MOREEX Program is a comprehensive program that will build capacity within the interprofessional team to create an environment where the team is able to use the shared knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors that contribute to safe, effective, patient-centered care in an efficient, collaborative, healthy practice environment.

For significant and sustainable culture change, the MOREEX Program provides an opportunity for hospital-based teams to create a culture of patient safety that so many healthcare professionals are striving for worldwide. This program ensures that new skills in patient safety become part of everyday practice on the unit. It helps teams to identify gaps which impede the building and sustaining of a patient safety culture, implement solutions and evaluate the impact, outcomes and culture change.

Patient safety cannot be addressed on an individual level or from a top-down approach alone. Teamwork at the unit level is essential in creating a sustainable culture of patient safety.
Enhanced communication
Ineffective communication is the most frequently cited category of root causes of harm events within the hospital environment. Improving interprofessional communication is embedded into every component of the MOREEX Program.
How does it work?
The MOREEX Program is a structured program, delivered on-site in three Modules. An interprofessional Core Team representing each discipline within the unit is assembled to lead the implementation of the program. A small team of facilitators from Salus Global Corporation provides orientation and ongoing support over the entire 3 modules. The team is provided with a unique combination of tools and processes to effect significant culture change. Module 1 focuses on Learning Together by getting the entire team on the same-page and talking the same language when it comes to patient safety and creating a patient safety culture on their unit. Module 2 focuses on Working Together, bringing the team together to focus on clinical issues and implementing safety practices, such as Emergency Drills, to improve team function in both day-to-day care and in stressful or unexpected circumstances. Module 3 focuses on Changing the Culture by embedding safety practices and continuing to improve teamwork and communication in order to build a solid foundation for Sustaining the Change.
